Can gargling salt water cause cavities/rot your teeth?

For example, at night after flossing and brushing teeth, i gargle with salt water as a rinse then go to sleep. It' soppose to be good for oral hygiene and your gums but will it do any bad to your teeth? like cavities wise

No, this won't cause cavities. However,remember to rinse very well after wards. Also, using Sea Salt or Kosher salt is even better than regular salt. My mother used to have us gargle with sea salt for throat infections. Rinsing after wards is VERY important.

Reply:No, rinsing with salt water will not cause cavities and you aren't suppose to rinse it off afterwards. The salt should only be about 1-2 tsps per 6oz of warm water and it can only continue to heal if it is not washed off. If you have high blood pressure or other health issues, then don't use the salt/water solution at all, otherwise it won't hurt you..Sea salt is fine to use and supposedly better for you anyway.
