Too many cavities?

I already asked as part of my other question, but haven't had any answers about this:

Is it normal to get 4 cavities in one year? I never had any before until now and I've seen the dentist once a year ever since I was very young.

What's the most cavities anyone here has ever got in one year?

Too many cavities?
Honey, I had 9 cavities in one year. Flossed and brussed 4-5 times a day. Didnt eat sweets or anything.. Sometimes, your enamel is just soft and it makes it easier to get cavities no matter what you do
Reply:i have never had cavities. if you get more than no cavities, you need to brush and floss more.
Reply:thats a lot, but I know someone who had 8 and they brushed their teeth every day, but they looooooveee coke, so they wouod drink more than a can a day (if not more). So, I guess it just depends on the person
Reply:It can happen. I've had 5 in a year, despite brushing and flossing everyday. I have weak enamel, so a year without a cavity is a good year for me. Just keep up with your dental care. Nothing, aside from dentures, will guarentee that you'll never get another cavity.
Reply:You need to speak to your dentist about this. Sometimes taking a new medication, stress, or other physical changes can be the impetus for this kind of change. Your dentist can help put you back on the right path.

Four cavities in one year is a lot. In the meantime, try using pre-brushing mouthwash and occasionally chewing sugar-free gum.
Reply:I had 5 a few yrs back when I went in for my annual cleaning. It was embarrasing. I brushed twice daily but never flossed. My dentist said it was b/c I didn't floss, and now that I floss regularly, I haven't had any.
Reply:No,is not normal. Are you eating alot of sweets? Take some calcium, and vitamin c is good for the emune system. In a year 0 cavities.
Reply:I know you said you aren't eating lots of sweets, but what about drinking soda, coffee, teas, milk... They will do lots of damage. I don't think 4 in a year is that normal.

Be sure to brush and rinse with listerine daily, but especially before going to bed. That's when the most damage is done to your teeth.
