Worried about cavities after braces???
It's never to late to improve your oral hygiene. You need to understand that the older you get, the more effort it requires to maintain your helath. Your less than ideal habits have carried you this far, but rest assured they will not carry you forever! Poor oral hygiene during orthodontic treatment not only results in cavities, but also unsightly areas of decalcification around the brackets. This appears as white and brown spots on the teeth that cannot easily be disguised. Start brushing better TONIGHT! Brush twice a day at least and especially at night. You know better or you wouldn't even be asking this question. You may not realize it, but you are in a very small minority of the world's population who even have access to a dentist and an orthodonitist. Please use your resources wisely. There are many people out there who can only dream of the type of care you are receiving and you should feel privileged. Don't take it for granted. it's time to grow up and take care of yourself because only you will suffer from the damage. Plus, who is gonna want to kiss you with that dragon breath! If your health won't motivate, maybe your love life will! :o) Remember....if you ignore your teeth, they will just go away........
