What gets done first? Braces or cavities?

I plan on getting my cavities filled and getting invisalign braces. However, I am unsure about whether or not my local Orthodontist for invisalign does cavity filling. I don't want to go to the Orthodontist for a consultation on invisalign then have to make them wait for me to get my cavities filled. Which comes first; cavities or braces? Also, how long after getting my cavities filled (if that is what comes first) would I need to wait to get braces?

cavities first
Reply:cavities first, anyday!
Reply:You should definitely get your cavities filled first. The orthodontist doesn't do this, only the general dentist does. Once you get your cavities filled, you need to maintain good oral hygiene by flossing once every night and brushing twice a day. After you get your teeth filled, you can go to the orthodontist immediately after if you wish. The composite or amalgam the dentist uses to fill your teeth will keep it's shape there no matter what. Good luck.
Reply:get your cavities filled first. then you need to maintain good oral hygiene while wearing braces
Reply:Cavities (decay) must be cleaned out and teeth restored with either fillings or crowns before orthodontists will begin aligning your teeth. Call the office you mentioned, tell them you think you have some fillings that need to be done, then they can tell you if they do restorative dental work or if you need to see a general dentist first.
Reply:If you are unsure, ask. Call the orthodontics's office and get that question answered. I understand what you're saying and it's a good question.

Daughter had braces, but I don't remember about the cavity thing. It's been too long.

Can see this is bothering you and that's why I suggest making the phone call and you'll get your answer.

Good Luck
