Says son has 4 cavities?

I took my 7 year old for a check up today/cleaning but the HYGENIST did it as usual but she said he has 4 tiny cavities.





Mind you it was not the dentist, how can i trust her is it really true or do they not know what there doing?

When my kids have there teeth cleaned the Dentist always comes in and takes a look before we go.
Reply:I dont think that you should listen to her as she is not a trained dentist so she does not have the knowledge of a dentist, did she give your child a check up? if so it still wont be accurate unless she has previously worked as a dentist. otherwise, just book an appointment with a 'real' dentist and have your mind assured then!
Reply:I definitely would get a dentist to take a look at your son. Also, depending on where the teeth are, if they are teeth that a child would lose natural relatively soon you might want to consider either pulling them or leaving them alone (as long as there is no pain). As a child I had a dentist fill 3 teeth that fell out within 6 months -- that was a lot of money and pain for useless proceedure.
