Can wisdom teeth be treated from cavities?

A dentist put 2 fillings on 2 of my wisdom teeth. Because he said I had cavities. Is this right? Can wisdom teeth be treated like any other tooth?

Thanks

Sure, wisdom teeth are actually real teeth. They are especially helpful if you have lost other teeth, to retain the structure of your teeth, plus, if you are not having problems with them, such as impaction, you can continue to keep them .
Reply:Yes. Wisdom teeth are like any other tooth--they just come in a little later.
Reply:Yes, but if they are extensively decayed like mine they recommend pulling.
Reply:i got my wisdom teeth extracted. i think thats what the normal procedure is. i can't imagine why dentist would put fillings and not extract them. they push forward your other teeth, and really squeeze forcibly at corners -- making it extremely painful even to eat. Its horrible situation. Wisdom teeth are pure waste --- you do not need them for anything. Extraction is the best cure!
