Will it hurt to have 2 cavities filled? sooo sorry but please read?

I have had cavities before but god that was when i was like 5 years old. they have to do 2 different shots cause they are both in the back of my mouth on opposite sides. will it hurt during it? How long will i be in pain afterwards? any swelling? Will it hurt after the numbing pain goes away to eat solid foods?

also what if i have been sick for almost 2 months could that do any harm?

Will it hurt to have 2 cavities filled? sooo sorry but please read?
The numbing shots will hurt more than the filling. There will be a sensation of pressure for a day, but that's it. If your illness includes infection, the dentist probably won't do it.

Reply:it all depends on the person for how much pain the can handle. they maybe some swelling and you may only eat a little bit. it depends on how wimpy the person is.
Reply:The only part that will hurt will be getting the shots, but not too bad so don't worry. The rest won't hur because your mouth will be numb. I have had lots of cavities filled and it's no big deal. Look at it this way....better to get 2 cavities filled now than have to get root canal, teeth pulled, or something worse in the long run.
Reply:To begin depending on the skill of your dentist the injections shouldn't be too horrific but they will not be pain free. The dental work itself will be painless though. Once the Novocaine (this is rarely used today, synthetics are used instead) wears off you can eat anything you want, you wait to avoid choking due to the numbness. Depending on the extent of the cavity and the type of repair need you could have some discomfort afterwards for a few days. A cavity repair is generally considered trauma to the tooth. If you don't improve after a few days you might consider calling the office to have the "bite" of the tooth checked since if it is off this can cause discomfort too.
Reply:The Shots Hurt A Little Bit. Like A Normal Shot--A Pinching Sensation. It Will Hurt If You Have Sensitive Teeth, But If You Feel Something, Tell Your Doctor %26amp;nd He'll Numb Your Gums More. When He Numbs You, You'll Feel Like Your Cheeks Are Huge, But They Actually Look Normal. You Won't Be Able To Eat For A Couple Hours [Depending On How Much Pain You're In]. Maybe A Little Swelling In Your Gums, But Not Much. You Know How Your Foot Falls Asleep And It Wakes Up %26amp;nd That Feeling You Get When It Wakens? Thats How Your Mouth Will Feel.
Reply:the novocaine shot hurts worse than the drilling and filling and that's only a few seconds - you'll be fine to eat an hour after you're done
Reply:You need to go to the dentist asap. You WILL get an infection, you will get an absess, and you will lose your tooth. Which is worse?
Reply:Yeah, I just answered this. The shots hurt the most, but if the cavities are shallow enough you can just ask for no Novocaine, I just did that a few days ago. No pain at all. But if they need Novocaine, you won't feel anything...you'll be numb afterwards for a few hours. If it still hurts after the Novocaine wears off, you can take Advil and you should be fine. You will be able to eat solid foods and there should be no swelling. Tell your dentist that you have been sick...it depends on the kind of sickness...if it is nothing serious then you can be worry free going to the dentist.

Good luck, you'll be fine.
Reply:Cavities you will learn are the LEAST scariest thing at the dentist other than getting your teath cleaned. I never use numbing for getting cavities filled, once I had 8 cavities filled without numbing shots and I was just fine... If you do it without shots, it doesn't hurt it's just an annoying "pain" but it's not where you can't handle it. I'd rather have no shot than go around with my mouth all numb afterwards.

No I doubt being sick will have any impact.
Reply:To tell you the truth these days your in and out in 30 mins. Its pretty much painless. Other then the shots, then the Novocain that too.. before they give them to you.
