Why do you get tooth cavities, even when you brush twice a day and take good care of your teeth?

I have a lot of cavities in my teeth and I know that have been using the best of flouride toothpaste to brush atleast twice a day if not after every meal.

Why do you get tooth cavities, even when you brush twice a day and take good care of your teeth?
this is called heredity my dear

yes this is true.. because u have already inherited Ur teeth anatomy from ur parents..this means that ur teeth have deep but very very narrow fissures which cant be cleaned by even the thinnest toothbrush bristles.. so even if u kept on brushing u will still have cavities therefore they usually advise to do what is called pit %26amp; fissure sealent once the tooth erupts...to prevent this to happen.

this can answer another question:

why do some people have cavity-free teeth although they have never used a brush before?
Reply:because some people have weak enamal on their teeth and the amount of brushing wont fix that. it also helps if you live somewhere where they put alot of floride in the water.
Reply:May be the distrubed person is used to eat sweets, chocolates and ice-cream in a big quantity.
Reply:Cavities are caused by bacteria that eat into your teeth. Luckily, most of us brush, floss and disinfect out mouths with mouthwash so that the bacteria don't have an opportunity to eat away at the tooth and cause irreversible damage (beneath the enamel).

I would suggest taking a look at your eating habits. Even with good brushing you can still get cavities if you consume a diet high in sugar (from candy, soda, sweets). Are you flossing? Brushing your teeth might not get in hard to reach areas between the teeth. Also, you should use a mouthwash like Listerine to disinfect the entire mouth.
Reply:toothpaste procte the cavities, not repair the cavities, the main resons of cavities stomach problems, cavities fill by silver of other metrials. contact Ur family dentest.
Reply:The decay does not set in immediately, instead it is built up over the years. It could be you have not been taking care of your teeth when you are young. You might have noticed you are not getting as much decay as you are older as you are taking much better care of your teeth now.

Are you brushing correctly? Use only a pea sized amount of flouride. You can visit your dentist to ask about the brushing technique that is appropriate for you or search online.

GOod luck. =)
Reply:You can use the best toothpaste and the best most expensive toothbrush out there, but if you are not flossing every day then the cavities will continue. Brushing only cleans the surfaces that you can see and have access to. Floss is what takes care of in-between the teeth. Bacteria and food get stuck between teeth and places where the toothbrush can't reach. When you floss you are getting in-between your teeth, but also under the gum-line as well. If you don't remove all of the plaque then it turns into acid within 24 hours. This acid causes decay and periodontal disease. So for you it sounds like flossing is the key to better oral health and less cavities.
