Will it hurt to have 2 cavities filled?

I have had cavities before but god that was when i was like 5 years old. they have to do 2 different shots cause they are both in the back of my mouth on opposite sides. will it hurt during it? How long will i be in pain afterwards? any swelling? Will it hurt after the numbing pain goes away to eat solid foods?

The most pain will come from the shots of local aesthesia into the gums. Ouch! After that it'll just be discomfort. You'll take some ibuprofen afterward as directed for the pain if you have any. You may be just fine. It depends upon your current illness if you will have any complications. Likely not. Relax because you'll do fine.
Reply:As long as you are under anesthesia, well, the nerves of your teeth, you should be fine. If they forget to do so, please do say something to your dentist. I have a bad story that deals with that. I had to have three fillings completed all on the same day...the dentist numbed two of the three areas, but it felt as if they had for all three...well, it turns out while they were drilling, I could feel the pain on my third one--but they had so much stuff in my mouth that I couldn't say anything...so make sure that they give you the proper anesthesia for EVERY cavity you have.
