can you get 2 cavities in 1 tooth
Can you get 2 cavities in 1 tooth?
yes, you can have two areas on one tooth that has decay. you could have one on the top (chewing surface) and one on the cheek side of the tooth.
you could also have decay in the interproximal areas of the tooth.
Reply:yes! happened to me before, the dentist filled one of them and my tooth was still hurting and he told me I had two! good question.
Reply:Yes, it is posssible
Reply:Why not?
Reply:yess and no it depends
Reply:Each tooth has 5 surfaces -
the facial or buccal (side facing the cheek)
the lingual (side facing the tongue)
the mesial (front side of chewing surface toward midline)
the distal (back side of chewing surface toward throat)
the incisal or occusal (chewing surface)
So believe it or not, a tooth could have up to 5 cavities at the same time!!!
