Dry mouth leads to cavities...help?

My medicine leads to chronic dry mouth, causing lots of gum-line cavities. I use Phos-Flur twice a day to try to stop the cavities, but it doesn't help. That artificial saliva is sickening. Any other ideas?

Dry mouth leads to cavities...help?
There is a new toothpaste and mouthwash that my dentist has recommended for my husband and I and its called Biotene. It is specifically for Dry Mouth. You might want to try it and see if it helps you like it has us. Good Luck!
Reply:Sip lots of water through out the day.
Reply:In addition to using a fluoride rinse regularily, chew gum that contains xylitol. It helps to neutralize the bacteria in your mouth so that they can't produce cavity-causing acid. It may also stimulate some saliva production.
