No, without treatment.. i.e. a filling you cannot prevent the cavity from getting progressively worse. You can 'slow' the decay by brushing, flossing and avoiding certain foods but you cannot correct or fill the decayed area in any way. I suggest that you head to the dentist - as much as it sucks now it will be less expensive than delayed treatment which would likely involve a larger filling or root canal meaning more $$$.

Reply:i could chop them off for you :D
Reply:It is possible to stop the progression of cavities (arrested lesions) but you will have to stop doing whatever caused them to begin with i.e sipping on soda pop all day long, eating sticky candy or lollipops between meals etc.. Your best bet however is to get them filled now. If they are really small, you might not need a shot and they will be easily filled. If you wait too long or if the cavities are too big to remineralize or arrest, you will need a lot of extensive restoration in the future.
Reply:It depends on the extend of decay, teeth have Enamel which is the outer layer and Dentin which is second layer, if decay is totally contained within the first layer of tooth, it is possible to control it through brushing, flossing and fluoride. if the decay is already in the dentin, it needs to be treated. age is an important factor, dentists tend to be more aggressive treating small cavities on younger patients and conservative in older patients. if the dentist decides to watch these cavity, the patient need to be very strict with his 6 months check ups, just to make sure they are not getting any bigger.
