Reply:Hello, there are some dentist who will give you a price break if you tell them up front you don't have insurance. Health professionals love Insurance, it has in most cases doubled their income. Fees these day's are based on being able to collect from both the insurance company and YOU. If the dentist feels you can't get his services if you have to pay insurance rates, they will sometimes discount their fee. It certainly doesn't hurt to ask.

As for fees for filings, they are based on how many surfaces the filing covers. A back tooth has 5 surfaces, 2 ends, 2 sides and the top surface. If for example the filing is on one side and extends up to and over the chewing surface, that's a "two surface" filing and the going average rate is $60 per surface. Good luck and I wish you well.
Reply:I think every dentist has a diff. price range. Call around an see. Or see if you can go in for a few consultations.
